Painted Harvest Hedgehog

Greetings friends.  It's been a while since I've blogged.  If you're on facebook you can find me there a little more often Sally Robertson S U demo on Facebook

Recently a friend celebrated her birthday and I had a lovely time embellishing one of Stampin' Up!'s awesome new 3"x3" pizza boxes.  I love the boxes.  They come in a pack of 8 for $12 (NZD).  They're lovely quality, food safe and come prescored and ready to go.

For this creation I used the Painted Harvest set to create a wee hedgehog.  Too cute right?!  I was inspired by a project made by Sina Muller.  The leaf punch coordinates with the set to make these sweet leaves.  The 'enjoy today' sentiment is from the 'Pieces and Patterns' set.

I hatched another little 'array' of hedgehogs (who knew a group of hedgehogs was called an array?! LOL).  These I made into little 3"x3" cards for customer thank yous.  I thought that they looked sweet on the Powder Pink background.  I used our burlap for the base of the cards and a nest of gold metallic thread in behind.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!  I'm off to teach a card class this afternoon, then it's time to relax.  It's been a busy term. x

This little piggy....

Up until this month, my new piggy set had not touched ink!  SO I set to work with it and whipped up a bunch of customer thank you cards.  Thank you Kristine McNickle for your design that I haved CASED here.

There are four different pigs in the 'This Little Piggy' stamp set.  They are super cute!  I enjoyed colouring these little guys with my aquapainter and ink from the ink pad lids.  The watercolour card works very well for this technique.

The sequins used are from the Iridescent assortment in the annual catty.  I am using the new ombre ribbons heaps.  Lemon Lime Twist is featured on these cards.

The 'Pinewood Planks' dynamic Embossing Folder is very cool and can be used across multiple occasions/ styles.

ALSO....
Nadia and I have space in our scrapbooking class next Fri (1/09).  Beginners welcome.  sally.robertson@email.com

Happy Birthday Gorgeous

My class participants made this project last month.   Well I think it was last month LOL.  ALL the stamps you see in this project are in the 'Happy Birthday Gorgeous' set.  There are 32 stamps in the set.

In choosing the colour scheme, I was inspired by the coordinating 'Foil Frenzy' DSP.  I chose:  'Soft Sky', 'Lemon Lime Twist' and 'Berry Burst'.

The balloon and label border stamp both have coordinating punches.  I used the layering oval dies to mat the top sentiment (and on the back of the box).  The Embossing Folder is 'Petal Burst'.

See that sweet felt bow?  Super cute right?  They come in the new in-colors and you get 20 in a pack.  The card folds down and we made an envelope (using the envelope punch board).

Have an awesome day!  x

Life is a Beautiful Thing

Nelson's July Extravaganza has been and gone.  It was another awesome day.  Five demonstrators taught a different project each so all the guests left with five handmade items.

I taught a double front card this time using the gorgeous 'Colorful Season' bundle.  The colour scheme is:  Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide and Sahara Sand.

When you open the card an extra panel is found.  We die cut this sweet chair for the second panel on a wash of 'Tranquil Tide'.

'Just Breathe'- what an awesome sentiment.  This was gold embossed.  How sweet are those Powder Pink blossoms?

The final Nelson Extravaganza for the year is November 25th.  Please contact me to book in.  It's a fun day for sure.

My next card making class is Friday 18th August (one space available).
Our next scrapbooking class is Friday Sep 1st.

Hugs, Petal Garden and Bonus Days

Have you noticed the sweet paper stack on page 57 of the annual catty?  Petal Garden is so beautiful.  It lends itself to many-a-beautiful creation!  I have been having a play with the suite the last few days and here is one of my creations....

In addition to the beautiful DSP I have used:
  • 1/8" ribbon (Old Olive)
  • Pool Party, Fresh Fig and Whisper White Cardstock
  • Stitched Shapes Framelits (oval)
  • Lovely Words Framelits ('hugs')

It's not too late to take advantage of the Bonus Days promotion.  Spend $110 in July and receive an $11 voucher to spend in August.

Happy crafting!  I look forward to seeing some of my local friends at the Nelson Extravaganza this Saturday.x

High Tide

I'm so pleased that the 'High Tide' set continued into the new annual catalogue.  It lends itself to some beautuful sea scenes.  Today's share is a card I taught earlier this year.  It is CASED from Tina Zinck 'The Serene Stamper'.  Her creation can be found here

The card is created by masking and sponging with a bit of heat embossing thrown in!  It's a great set for making cards for the men in our lives too.  The Stampin' Up! inks used for this creation are:
  • Whisper White
  • Cherry Cobbler
  • So Saffron
  • Crushed Curry
  • Watermelon Wonder (retired)
  • Perfect Plum
  • Night of Navy
  • Memento Black

I have two spaces left for my July 7th card class (10-12:00) if you are local to the Nelson/Tasman region.  Please contact me for more information.  sally.robertson@email.com

Have a great weekend folks.  I'm looking forward to teaching a couple more masculine cards this afternoon.  Sally x

Reflection Technique

A little while ago I attended a class taught by my friend Adriana Koch and she taught the reflection technique using 'Beautiful You'.  I had seen cards made using this technique but it was great to try it out for myself.  'Beautiful You' is a lovely set that lends itself to a variety of techniques, such as this one.

These cards are for sale at 'Little Shop on Alabama' in Blehheim NZ.  If you would like supplies to make your own cards please contact me sally.robertson@email.com

Daisy Delight

A couple of weeks back I had fun making some customer thank you cards using the new 'Daisy Delight' bundle.  The stamp set and punch are proving very popular!  I had fun playing and trying a few different ways of using the new products.  Come and see..

All of the 3"x3" cards use the daisy punch and Whisper White cardstock.

Sponging the petals created a sweet, soft look.  Applying fine tipped adhesive and sprinkling dazzling diamonds glitter worked a treat.

The DSP across the bottom of the cards is 'Fresh Florals' and the pack contains all of the new in-colours.

From left to right:  The first daisy is stamped, then sponged and fine tipped adhesive is then used over the flower centre.  The middle daisy is made using 'vellum' along with a faceted gem centre.  Strips of the Floral DSP make up the background, .  Envelopes are made with the envelope punch board in coordinating DSP.

The sentiment 'thank you' is also from the Daisy Delight stamp set.  Shown here in 'Berry Burst' (new).

I appreciate my customers.  Thank you to you all. x

'Oh So Eclectic'

Introducing 'Oh So Eclectic' a brand new stamp set which is in the 2017-2018 annual catalogue.  In fact samples feature on the front cover of the new catalogue.  I was lucky enough to win this set at On-Stage Auckland and I really like it!

Today's share is the swap I made recently for our wider SU team.  The colour combo is:  Powder Pink (new), So Saffron, Soft Sky, Berry Burst (new) and Basic Gray.

I fussy cut the leaves (as the matching dies weren't available when I was making the swaps).  The dies will be very useful for future projects!

A final note of thanks to the ladies who came to my class this morning.  I really enjoy our mornings together!

Tranquil tide and Seasons

The brand new catty is really lovely.  Contact me for your copy ($5 or free for existing customers):  sally.robertson@email.com

'Colorful Seasons' is a new set and it is just stunning.  I throughly enjoyed making these cards, which are CASED from Jessie Holton.  The sympathy sentiment comes from Rose Wonder.

I have to say that the five new in colors are my most FAV in colors since I became a demo 3 years ago.  'Tranquil Tide' and 'Powder Pink' feature here accompanied by the neutral 'Sahara Sand'.

I have two spaces left in my class next Friday.  Bookings essential sally.robertson@email.com

'See' you soon!

Wood Crate Party Favours

It's Birthday central at our place at the moment with two of our sons sharing the same special day.  I had so much fun making these party favours for my 'baby's' fourth birthday party.

The monster stamp is from 'Yummy in My Tummy'- retiring soon.  The sweet crate is from a new set 'Wood Crate Framelit Dies' which will be available for purchase come June the 1st.  I die cut the crates from Crumb Cake Cardstock and stamped them with the 'Hardwood' stamp before assembling.

There is room in each crate to add a few treats for the little people.  I'm thinking a small bouncy ball and balloon to take home.

Like the fresh greeny colour?  It's the new In-Colour 'Lemon Lime Twist'.  It sure is yummy!  I've used 'Tempting Turquoise' and 'Tangerine Tango' on the other monsters. The paws are coloured in 'Powder Pink' (also new),

Not long now until these furry guys will go to their new homes AND in just over a week the new Stampin' Up! annual catalogue goes live.  Exciting!

Moon Baby and introducing Powder Pink

Moon Baby is a super cute stamp set.  Thank you to Paula Dobson as she inspired these sweet baby cards.

The clouds are from the 'Lift me Up' set and I have heat embossed them in white.

The new in-colour 'Powder Pink' is just gorgeous.  This will be available June 1st.  To colour the images I have stamped on Shimmery White cardstock and used an aqua painter with SU ink.  My favourite method of colouring!

The stitched framelits are so useful.  Quite possibly my most used dies.  I love them.  The set has four squares, four circles and four ovals.  The scalloped circle is from the 'Layering Circle Dies' set.

These little babys are heading off for sale in the Little Shop on Alabama, Blenheim NZ.

Have a lovely weekend!
